First International Sale of In The Night Garden

First International Sale of In The Night Garden

BBC Worldwide Australasia has made the first international sale of new children's property In the Night Garden to New Zealand's TVNZ, it was announced today at BBC Showcase.

The landmark new children's series from Ragdoll Ltd, the team behind Teletubbies, was specially created to appeal to very young children.

In The Night Garden (100 x 30') is a modern interpretation of a nursery rhyme picture book that takes children on an imaginative journey to meet a dazzling host of characters living together in a happy and caring woodland community.

It is a Ragdoll Limited production for CBeebies. Hasbro Inc has been awarded the master toy licence.

"In The Night Garden is just enchanting" said Melanie Owen, BBC Worldwide's Sales Manager, NZ. "It is funny, reassuring and inspiring entertainment for young children and their carers."

BBC Worldwide's Sydney office has also concluded deals with TVNZ for the first two series of The Catherine Tate Show (12 x 30') from Tiger Aspect Productions, and Fear Stress and Anger (6 x 30') from Hartswood Films.

Little Robots S5 (13 x 10') from Create Film and TV, and What Not to Wear S6 (5 x 60") are also premiering on TVNZ in 2007.
