“Triathlon New Zealand thanks Hamish Carter for his involvement in triathlon over the years and the remarkable achievements he has made within the sport.

“Throughout his lengthy career of professional competition, Hamish has always been at the forefront of the sport. In doing so, he has helped to elevate the profile of triathlon in New Zealand to the point where today it is now the nation’s fastest growing sport.

“During his professional career, Hamish has won an Olympic gold medal, a Commonwealth Games bronze medal and has had three podium finishes at the ITU World Championships, along with many other professional triathlon victories.

“His remarkable achievements and commitment to the sport have helped to make New Zealand one of the best triathlon nations in the world and inspired many young athletes to take up the sport. Triathlon New Zealand wishes Hamish all the very best with his future pursuits.”
