CALL FOR ENTRIES!

Round two of the biggest trans-Tasman battle in film!

Fancy the chance to pit your short filmmaking talent against that across the Tasman?

The 2007 JAMESON SHOW ME SHORTS Film Festival, New Zealand’s only dedicated trans-Tasman short film festival, is now calling for entries.

Last year Jannine Barnes took out the grand prize for her heartwarming Australian comedy ‘Ray’. This year it could be you!

Just visit www.showmeshorts.co.nz now to download the entry form. It’s free to enter, and this year selected films will be shown not only in Auckland, but also Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

The 2006 event was a resounding success, so in 2007 the JAMESON SHOW ME SHORTS Film Festival has expanded to a full week at the Academy in Auckland starting on the 8th of November. This will be followed by three days at each of the Paramount in Wellington, the Regent in Christchurch and the Metro in Dunedin.

We want you! Established masters of the craft and emerging talent are equally welcome.

JAMESON SHOW ME SHORTS is the brain child of entrepreneurs and festival addicts Gina Dellabarca, Tamara Liebman, Katrin Hagen, Kate Nicholson and Laura Goldsmith.

Entries must be between three and thirty minutes long, and must have been completed after December 31st 2003. Full guidelines are available on the website, and you can submit your forms electronically!

Business Director Tamara Liebman says, “2006 proved us right about the strong demand from the public to see more great short films, and about the large number of entertaining films available for us to screen. This year we are expecting even more entries than last year’s 500. This will enable us to select a diverse range of around 50 top quality films to play in themed sessions of five or six grouped together.”

Winners will be announced on opening night for Best Film, Best Student Film, Best Technical Contribution and a Special Jury Prize. This way more people will have the opportunity to see the winning films.
