Play It Strange Charitable Trust Announces a Night Not to Be Missed

For the first time in 25 years, legendary Kiwi rockers, Citizen Band will reform for one night only, as one of the performances in "A Night With Strange Friends", a fundraising event for the Play It Strange Charitable Trust, at the Auckland Town Hall, Wednesday 2 nd May.

Citizen Band teams up with kiwi musicians Don McGlashan, performing with his son, Jordan Luck of The Exponents and Eddie Rayner of Split Enz . The evening hosted by Jennifer Ward Leyland, will also feature an auction fundraiser and gala dinner. Tickets to A Night With Strange Friends are just $250 each or $2500 for a table of ten. Book tickets by emailing rsvp@empirepr.co.nz or by calling 09 378 9030.

"The last time Citizen Band played at the Town Hall was in 1979 while we were on a national tour" says Mike Chunn Citizen Band member and CEO of Play It Strange. "It was such an out-of-control night, rock concerts were immediately banned at the Town Hall for good."

"Fortunately myself and the guys in the band, Geoffrey Chunn, Greg Clark and Brent Eccles, are a bit older and wiser now, but they still aren't scared of volume. They've let us come back to the Town Hall with the support of our very good friends to create an event that will not only support Play it Strange but offer guests a night like no other. Whether or not the same problems occur (as in 1979) are up to the guests"

Chunn says the Citizen Band specially reformed to help raise money for Play It Strange.
