Tutus Tour A Triumph
Tutus Tour A Triumph
“A programme full of fresh ideas,
brilliant choreography and captivating dancers”
The
National Business Review, February 2007
The ‘Sold
Out’ sign went up outside venues throughout the country as
the Royal New Zealand Ballet performed their most successful
‘Tutus’ tour ever.
From Oamaru to Kerikeri, Kiwi audiences embraced the opportunity to see TOWER Tutus On Tour – a programme of five works.
More than 28,300 people flocked to see the Company perform in 48 centres – with a record number of 24 shows completely selling out.
“The local communities came out in force, packing out venues both large and small,” says Company Manager Kirsten Kelly.
“But it wasn’t just the audiences who embraced the Tutus experience – the dancers loved being welcomed into heartland New Zealand.”
The RNZB dancers are now back in the rehearsal studio preparing for the upcoming season of Swan Lake, which will feature internationally renowned New Zealand dancers Lisa-Maree Cullum, Matthew Lawrence and Gaylene Cummerfield returning home to guest star in this spectacular production.
Swan Lake opens in Wellington on 25 May and tours to Palmerston North, Napier, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin.
