Horizon Gardens Master Gardener Programme
Horizon Gardens Master Gardener Programme
Beginning Saturday 9 June, CCS Horizon Gardens is launching a 10 week organic gardening programme covering a range of organic and permaculture topics. Presenters are pioneers and experts in their fields from a variety of backgrounds and organisations. They will share their knowledge in hands-on sessions which cover topics ranging from permaculture basics, to composting, successful fruit tree growing, soil management, crop rotation and herb cultivation.
The course runs from 9.30-12.30 every Saturday from 9 June -11 August, and costs $250. A rate of only $100 will be available to a limited number of students who commit to helping out by volunteering at least 10 hours to work on projects in the community gardens.
Scott Thiemann, CCS Gardens Manager, says the course is a great opportunity to be part of an innovative and informative programme in a central community garden setting.
“This course will assist you to create your own successful organic garden and contribute to a more sustainable and eco-friendly urban environment.”
As there is space for only 12-15 people in this comprehensive course, anyone interested is advised to register early.
