Onefest Series Part Three

Onefest Series Part Three
The Brunettes w/ Teenwolf & Haunted Love
Friday 25th May - Refuel

When it doesn’t rain, they say, it pours. Hot on the heels of Little Bushman earlier in the month, Radio One is proud to bring you Onefest Series Part Three, on Friday May 25th at Refuel, starring New Zealand’s own Bubblegum Pop darlings The Brunettes.

After conquering the world of indie-pop & playing with such reputable bands as The Shins, Architecture in Helsinki & Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Brunettes return to Dunedin town has long been anticipated.

The Brunettes show has grown in stature to accommodate the so-dubbed "Lil' Chief Pop Orchestrette," a changing, waxing and waning crew of instrumentalists associated with Auckland's Lil' Chief Records (founded by Jonathan Bree in 2001), a label who have released some of New Zealand's most unassumingly beautiful pop music of the last few years. The Brunettes have been known to incorporate marimba, glockenspiel, banjo, cello, trumpet, alto and tenor saxophone, the clarinet and various other random musical devices into their live shows.

Following a swag of critically acclaimed releases, the new Brunettes full length album 'Structure and Cosmetics' is due to be released in America this year on the legendary Sub Pop Records catalogue (the first Kiwi band on that label) & out through Lil’ Chief Records here in New Zealand.

With support from Auckland no wave rockers Teenwolf, and a side of goth-pop from our favourite librarians Haunted Love, Onefest Series Part Three is going to be an indie lovefest just for you.
