The Delicate Art of Parking
CHEAP FUN WE KNOW BUT THE ACADEMY CINEMAS ARE TAKING APART THE PARKING WARDENS AT THIS YEAR’S COMEDY FESTIVAL
AUCKLAND
The Academy Cinemas, Auckland’s only dedicated arthouse cinema and the victim of endless issues with central city parking wardens has found the ultimate film for this year’s festival.
The Delicate Art of Parking has been called the “Kenny of parking wardens”. It tells the story of documentary film maker Lonny Goosen whose car has just been towed. Again. Owing thousands of dollars in outstanding tickets, he sets out to film a scathing expose of the corrupt institution of parking enforcement. Yet the parking enforcers themselves wont talk. That is, until he finds Grant Parker: a parking enforcer who, despite constant threats and abuse, finds truth, humour and serenity in the art of ticketing.
The Academy Cinemas present the New Zealand premiere of The Delicate Art of Parking at the NZ International Comedy Festival, 8.30pm, Friday May 11.
