Late Night Sessions at City Gallery
Wellington
Art and music lovers can rock down to the City Gallery’s Late Night Session, Friday 29 June, and warm up with local musicians Cherry’s Gemstones, Disasteradio and VJs VJette while enjoying current exhibitions Laurence Aberhart, Hany Armanious: Morphic Resonance and Salla Tykkä: Cave and Zoo and Adrienne Martyn: Looking For the Subject in the Michael Hirschfeld Gallery. The Gallery will be open until 11pm.
“A visual and aural delight is in store with the return of City Gallery Wellington’s ever popular late night session,” says Debbie Martin, City Gallery Wellington Manager, Education and Public Programmes, “The Gallery will be buzzing - it’s going to be a great night.”
Disasteradio is Lower Hutt’s Luke Rowell who creates electronic pop music, using both software and hardware synthesizers.
Acclaimed rock/punk/operatic band, Cherry’s Gemstones, features femme/fatale Hannah Simpson on vocals, guitar and keys and Ben Payne on drums and synth.
VJette is a collaboration between three Wellington “lady VJs” and vision artists: VJ Rayzordoll [Ray Beals], VJ Tempest [RJ Tempest], & VJ JoiedeVivre [Johanna Sanders].
Earlier this year, over 400 people got to hang-out late with the artwork while enjoying the sounds of Peneloping, Tc Wedde with Luke Buda and Aspen at the Late Night Session for Telecom Prospect 2007: New Zealand Art.
