New Director – Kate Montgomery
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Physics Room Announces New Director – Kate Montgomery
The Physics Room Trust is pleased to announce that Kate Montgomery has been appointed as Director of The Physics Room.
Kate has been involved with Christchurch's High Street Project Trust (HSP) in a variety of roles since 2003, most recently chairing the Board of Trustees, and has an established background in freelance writing. She has been a regular contributor to Art New Zealand and The Press and has written for a wide variety of publications and exhibition catalogues.
Kate co-ordinated HSP's involvement with Melbourne's Next Wave Festival in 2006, alongside Enjoy Public Art Gallery (Wellington) and Rm103 (Auckland) and participated in Enjoy Gallery's Summer Residency programme in early 2007 as part of M&W.
Having held the position of Acting Director at The Physics Room for three months late last year, Kate is looking forward to working with the gallery's Board and staff to carry on the momentum gained during Danae Mossman's time in Christchurch and producing an exciting and engaging programme of artist led projects for The Physics Room and its audiences.
The Physics Room welcomes Kate on board and is excited about her starting on 17 September 2007.
