Outrageous Again
New Zealand viewers can look forward to another series of TV3’s successful drama Outrageous Fortune thanks to funding from NZ On Air, allocated in the August funding round.
“This programme is a phenomenon,” said NZ On Air’s Chief Executive, Jane Wrightson. “TV3’s commitment to a fourth series of this excellent prime time drama is a clear indication of both their and NZ On Air’s confidence in this quality drama.”
NZ On Air has committed $8,159,240 to the production of a further 18 one-hour episodes of Outrageous Fortune. The series will screen next year.
“The West family has become a very familiar part of New Zealand life in the past few years, and there is a real appetite from audiences wanting more of their exploits to be examined,” Ms Wrightson said.
“We’re delighted this local drama has developed such a loyal and dedicated following, and pleased to be able to support another series.”
Ms Wrightson said the NZ On Air Board was pleased with the quality of the latest round of applications. “”Local content is certainly looking healthy for the year ahead.”
