Scriptwriting is in the spotlight this week as professional actors give rehearsed readings from plays by writers taking the MA (Script) workshop, chaired by Ken Duncum. Five scripts, one lunch-hour, and always one of our fastest-moving and most unpredictable events! This session features work by Ellie Smith, Simon Price, Kent Hainsworth, Sarah Boddy, and Catherine Bisley.

Join Jonathan Mane-Wheoki, Director of Art and Collection Services at Te Papa Tongarewa as he discusses the origins, development and current directions of Contemporary Maori art. This latest seminar in the popular NZART101 series situates itself along the current exhibition at City Gallery Wellington, Te Huringa / Turning Points: Pakeha Colonisation and Maori Empowerment, an exhibition of paintings from the collection of The Fletcher Trust and Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare O Rehua Whanganui.

Why do the crafts need a think tank?
Liesbeth den Besten (The Netherlands) and Love Jönsson (Sweden) are members of Think Tank: A European Initiative for the Applied Arts, a group of critics, scholars and makers formed in 2004. In this talk they present the group's aims and its various activities. They will discuss the need for an increased international exchange in the fields of craft criticism and theory, and point to possibilities and issues within the field.
