A week-long festival of concerts, café gigs, street music and workshops

The 3rd Titirangi Festival of Music is just around the corner. With an incredible line-up of events including café gigs, street music, workshops and major concerts showcasing an exciting array of genres, the organisers are promising a truly melodic week.

Festival organisers, the Livingworks Trust, are playing their cards close to their chest about who will be performing at the main concerts, but have said they are busy working to confirm an impressive line-up of local and out-of-town acts.

A special concert series called the Acoustic Café will run throughout the duration of the Festival at Titirangi Theatre, providing a great meeting place and a real focal point for the Festival.

The Festival will kick-off on March 29 with a free opening concert outside at the Tangiwai Reserve on Huia road. The opening will begin with a special parade starting from Titirangi Village and working its way down Huia Rd to arrive at the reserve at 12:30, where a Powhiri will take place and representatives of local Iwi Te Kawerau a Maki and Mayor Bob Harvey will present a few words of welcome.

The opening concert will run from 1pm to 5pm and feature a collection of superb West Auckland musical talents: the Mamaku Project, Mahinarangi Tocker, One Million Dollars and local DJ’s Ropehead Sound System.
