Spartacus R enter Twilight Zone in 3D shocker

Imagine, if you will, a concert where the audience enter a new dimension; a dimension not only of sight and sound but of the mind. A dimension where the viewers embark on a journey not seen nor heard in New Zealand music before: The Third Dimension.

Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you Spartacus R and Sound Architecture. Delve into sights and sounds never before seen in a New Zealand theatre – a rock concert in 3D.

Groundbreaking psychedelic rock band Spartacus R continue to push the boundaries of music with their latest production for the New Zealand Fringe Festival.

Teaming up with filmmaker Giles McNeil and renowned producer 'Dr' Lee Prebble (The Black Seeds, Trinity Roots, Phoenix Foundation), Spartacus R will perform their distinctive psychedelic blues and rock surrounded by McNeil's original 3D film.

In a unique coupling of sound and vision, Prebble will manipulate Spartacus R's sound in Quadrophonic, as the audience views the performance and film in 3D glasses for one night only at the Paramount Theatre, Saturday February 16th at 10.30pm.

Last year, Spartacus R wowed audiences with their Spartacus R in Octophonic performances for Fringe 07. After a first night attended by a half-full house of some of Wellington's most prominent musicians, the extremely positive word-of-mouth saw full houses and queues stretching down the road for the next two performances.

Spartacus R play new compositions from their debut album When the Fever Takes Hold later in February.
