A Valentines twist on the early
morning fitness regime...
Valentines Day kicked off with a slight change to the regular fitness routine. Forget the early morning jog, men were encouraged to exert some energy carrying their wives around an obstacle course on Mission Bay Beach in The Rock’s Annual Wife-Carrying Race.
In its fifth year, the race took place this morning with couples attempting a variety of (carrying) positions; from the classic fireman’s to the new favourite the upside-down piggy back - all featured in the photo below.
Wellington couple, Wi and Andrea Kiwha crossed the line victorious winning not only the tile of “Rock Wife Carrier 2008” but also Andreas weight in beer. Who says romance is dead?
