LION RED – Sponsor of the Hamilton 400 V8 Supercars

Lion Red is proud to announce their sponsorship of the Hamilton 400 V8 Supercars event, to be held in Hamilton on the 18th-20th of April, 2008.

“This is a fantastic new sponsorship property for Lion Red in a key part of NZ,” says Russell King, Lion Red Marketing Manager. “Lion Red’s values fit perfectly with the event; it’s about having unique and memorable experiences with your mates and best of all, we know that our Lion Red drinkers love V8 motor racing. We are very excited about building our brand with Hamilton 400 over the next few years’.

Hamilton 400 Sales Director, Dean Calvert is enthusiastic about Lion Red’s commitment to the Hamilton 400, the single largest sporting event in the country. “Lion Red brings with it some great experience and knowledge around sports sponsorship, as well as providing a great drink option for audiences at the circuit, we’re looking forward to a successful partnership,” says Calvert.

The Hamilton 400 is a controlled street race that sees competitors race 400km over three days. The V8 Supercar Championship series is made up of 13 rounds, including five ‘Signature Rounds’ – the Adelaide Clipsal 500, Bathurst 1,000, Indy Car Grand Prix (Gold Coast), Barbagello (Western Australia) and the Hamilton 400. New Zealand’s top motorsport racing driver Greg Murphy will be taking to the track in hope of a podium placement at the end of the three-day event. He’ll be up against top pick drivers Garth Tander, Jamie Whincup and Mark Winterbottom.

Lion Red will have a major presence at the Hamilton 400 and will be available throughout the weekend at the Lion Red bar as well as at the many public bars and corporate boxes around the track.
