PRESTIGE presents 'The Launch'

PRESTIGE, the godfathers of New Zealand hip hop (formerly know as DZIAH), will present their showcase 'The Launch' under their new name on Saturday 19th July, 7.30pm at Baycourt theatre in Tauranga.

The showcase marks the beginning of an ambitious road to fundraise the $45,000 they need to send themselves to Las Vegas to compete at the International hip hop competition in August of this year.

The crew, who qualified for the international competition by taking out the National Hip Hop Championships in April, have extensive experience performing at an international level and have been working towards this competition for months.

PRESTIGE crew leader Antoine Parseth says, "We feel honoured to represent New Zealand. We are working hard towards winning Gold this year. We are looking forward to entertaining and inspiring our audience at 'The launch'. This will be a show you will not want to miss! We are taking New Zealand hip hop to a whole new level."

The world title championships attract the top hip hop crews from around the globe showcasing crews defying all odds and pushing the boundaries of the discipline to the extreme.

Their recent name change from DZIAH to PRESTIGE marks the beginning of the crew's new journey, higher ambitions, and celebrates their international success.

The same crew but under the name DZIAH, recently won gold in Europe (October 2007), silver in Los Angeles in 2006 and bronze in Melbourne last year.

"They proudly represent our country and I would love to see more New Zealander's partnering with them in their dreams", says PRESTIGE manager Ness Johnson.
