Get Airborne At
The Supercross & Gravity Games
Over 1000 tonnes of earth was trucked into Vector Arena this week for the first ever Supercross, Motorcross and BMX indoor event to be held in Auckland.
An expected 8,000 daredevil enthusiasts will take their seats to watch some of the world’s best bikers battle it out at the Demon Energy Supercross & Gravity Games.
Not just popular with fans, the Supercross & Gravity Games are also drawing some huge international names to the line-up, including the “Godfather” of freestyle Motocross!
The new line-up of confirmed riders in the Freestyle Motocross competition is spearheaded by New Zealand’s champion athlete Nick Franklin, back from competing on the European circuit. Up against our Kiwi hero are Australia’s formidable bikers Robbie Adelberg and Robbie Marshall.
Topping off this display of aerial carnage will be the much anticipated appearance of Mike “the Godfather” Metzger- a legendary rider from America’s original Crusty Demons*. Having won titles at the international X-Games on numerous occasions, Metzger is never shy to pull out the big tricks and even break a few world records.
The Supercross line-up will see New Zealand’s top riders Darryl Hurley, Luke Burkhart, Blake Gillard and Jesse Wiki compete with up to a dozen other local and international riders for the $10,000 in prize money that’s up for grabs!
The Supercross & Gravity
Games, sponsored by Demon Energy, will be an adrenaline
fuelled display of the world’s best Supercross Racing,
Freestyle Motocross and BMX.
The action starts on
Saturday 12th July, 2008. Tickets are available at
Ticketmaster and with the school holidays coming up, this is
the ideal show for the whole family!
