Jackpotting Prizes Jump to $15.5 Million

Jackpotting Lotto, Powerball and Strike prizes means there is a massive $15.5 million in prizes up for grabs next week, says NZ Lotteries' Chief Executive Todd McLeay.

"Next weekend, Lotto will be worth an estimated $2 million, Strike $1 million and Powerball grows to an estimated $12.5 million now that sort of prize would seriously blow away anyone's mid-winter blues," says Mr McLeay.

Tauranga grandmother of eight Joy, was tonight's big winner, after spinning and winning $150,000 live on Lotto's Winning Wheel. Joy is a regular Lotto player, but this is her and husband Garry's biggest win to date.

All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy. Players can check their ticket at any lottery outlet.

Tonight's Winning Wheel ticket was sold by Pak N Save Pukekohe and the serial number is 097-17409861-20xx.

"Anyone who bought a ticket at this retailer should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it as soon as possible at any NZ Lotteries' outlet," Todd McLeay says.

We are also mid-way through Lotto's Father's Day promotion. All players who purchase a Lotto Triple Dip between Sunday 24 August and Saturday 6 September 2008 are in with a chance to win one of ten HSV supercars or ten Harley Davidson Fatboy motorcycles.
