Is That Thunder I Hear?

Get Ready for BP Ultimate Big Boys Toys 2008
BP Ultimate Big Boys Toys, the undisputed heavy-weight champion of male oriented exhibitions is set to explode into action this year on 14th – 16th November, 2008, with a list of activities to inspire and ignite.

Every year, between 45-55,000 people pack into the ASB Showgrounds in Greenlane, Auckland, to see the biggest, the best and most powerful displays by our best-loved brands, showcasing autos from big bore V8s to million dollar supercars; aquatic craft from two metres to 16 metres; motor-bikes of all kinds; from skate-boards to military vehicles, spirits to soft-drinks and more promo-girls than you can shake a four-by-two at.

And this year, despite many of the attractions still under wraps, visitors won’t be surprised to hear that the smorgasbord of attractions is as full as ever.

Leading out the entertainment in the arena this year will be not one, but two fantastic stunt teams, with Honda Cunningstunts; three of the best Australian Stunt Riders crossing the ditch to put on the most exciting stunt shows on all new CBR600RR Motorcycles. They’ll join New Zealand’s #1 Luke Smith with the Demon Energy FMX Team for the most exciting FMX Show ever staged at Big Boys Toys.

They’ll share the arena with the biggest boys in the country with the Memphis Meltdown 2008 NZ Strongman Competition, as a large group of seriously big men battle it out of a two day competition to find a New Zealand Champion. And back again, always a crowd pleaser, the New Zealand Army will be back in action demonstrating a live tactical assault with armoured cars and machine guns.

This year Drive Performance has something for everyone.

Back stronger than ever is the New Zealand Motorcycle Show, featuring the latest models, modifications and advancements from every major manufacturer.  If it is on two wheels, you’ll find it, with the addition this year of Ducati and Polaris who join the event for the very first time in 2008. Don’t forget the amazing selection of off-road quads, and scooters for every activity.

Not all toys are for the road and as always Big Boys Toys features exciting hi-tech devices.  Wired is the area dedicated to the latest technological advancements available in New Zealand with a computers, phones, peripherals, gaming and telecommunications. Look for exciting new product launches and leading technology that you can try (and try) before you buy.

And while there may a million vehicle options on land, Big Boys Toys proves there are almost as many on water. This year’s Marine and Outdoors selection will feature the latest in wakeboards and accessories, through to inflatable’s, kayaks and everything in between.

For the man looking for that little bit extra to make his life complete, the Life.Style Hall is sure to excite!  From the latest in pool tables, pin ball machines, clothing and accessories through to personal finance, recruiting and haunted theme parks, the Life.Style Pavilion has all the important accessories to make the man!

BP Ultimate Big Boys Toys is the last word in high energy, testosterone fuelled entertainment, says Group Manager Francis Hughes.

“Where else can you see the latest amazing vehicles and meet your motoring heroes, see FMX bikes jump 15 metres in the air, experience all kinds of fantastic games, simulators, products and services and sample new flavours all in one venue?” he asks.

“And it is this huge, hi-impact selection that has made Big Boys Toys the biggest show of its kind in Australasia and still growing,” says Hughes, “and with a number of key attractions still to be announced, we’re expecting this to be our highest energy show yet.”
