Moët & Chandon Celebrates Air New Zealand Fashion Week with a Spectacular Opening Night Party

The world’s most loved champagne, Moët & Chandon held a truly “fabulous” opening night party for New Zealand's prestigious and most stylish fashion event, Air New Zealand Fashion Week .

As a symbol of celebration and spectacular fêtes, Moët & Chandon is synonymous with transforming occasions into fabulous and unexpected moments with the instruction to guests to “Be Fabulous.”

In celebration of its first year at Air New Zealand Fashion Week, Moët & Chandon revealed its specially created Pomponne dress in a dramatic performance created by esteemed New Zealand choreographer, Shona McCullough and audio visual artist Michael Hodgson.

Movements from dancer, Rebecca Solomon, were captured and treated using a combination of motion graphics and live translations into an illuminated interpretation of the dance projected onto a giant screen. At the climax of the performance, model, Pamela Hodges, appeared wearing the signature Moët and Chandon Pomponne dress.

The Pomponne dress carries 100 flutes of champagne and was created for Moët & Chandon by Paris-based designer Saghar Rad. Moët ambassador, Trelise Cooper, provided the evening gown worn underneath the Pomponne dress.

David Ridley, General Manager for Moët & Chandon in New Zealand says the company wanted to combine the splendour of Moët & Chandon’s heritage and position with the style, creativity and business success of Air New Zealand Fashion Week.

“Moët & Chandon has been a partner of fashion weeks across the globe, from Sydney, Milan, São Paulo, Tokyo, London, New York, to Shanghai and Amsterdam. It’s a new initiative for us here in New Zealand and we are very excited about the opportunity to celebrate such an important event for the local market.”

This year the Moët & Chandon Lounge will be the definitive destination for designers, stylists, models, buyers, journalists, photographers and fashion insiders to catch up over a glass of Moët & Chandon between shows.

Moët & Chandon photographers will be on site all week taking photos of the best dressed guests at Fashion Week. The photos will be exhibited on the ‘Be Fabulous’ wall during ‘Be Fabulous’ hour, located in the Moët & Chandon Lounge.  Each day one of the most influential figures at Fashion Week, from an international editor to a New Zealand designer, will determine the best dressed guest who will be rewarded with a bottle of Moët to enjoy with friends in the Moët & Chandon Lounge.

For the duration of Fashion Week, the luxurious Moët & Chandon Lounge will be serving Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial, Rosé Impérial, and Grand Vintage 2000 Blanc, as well as sparkling wines from it’s Australian winery, including Chandon Brut NV, Chandon NV Rosé and Chandon Cuvée Riche.
