Docherty Tours His Medals And Beijing Memories
Beijing Olympic Games bronze medalist Bevan Docherty will this week embark on a whistle stop tour of the South Island, speaking at schools, clubs and public meetings about his Olympic experience in both Athens (silver medal) and Beijing (bronze medal).
Many of the functions are open to members of the general public wishing to hear Docherty speak of the commitment, passion and hard work required to succeed at the Olympic Games.
Docherty’s visits will also include an audio visual presentation to help highlight the highs, lows and hurdles that an athlete has to cope with in preparing for and racing in an Olympic Games.
Docherty will also be holding autograph signing sessions at most events and will be presenting signed memorabilia for clubs and schools to use in fundraising for community projects and facilities.
While some specific details and events at certain venues are still being worked through the itinerary is confirmed. Docherty is available for interviews in each of the venues and can be contacted directly on mobile phone.
