A Taste of France Comes to Wellington

Auckland, 22 October 2008: – New Caledonia will be showing off its French flair and flavours at the upcoming “French Event” in Wellington.

Food, wine, holiday choices and cars are amongst all things French that will be on show and New Caledonia will be there with its latest holiday deals. Wine and food tasting, French lessons, a slice of France and its sights on a giant screen and live local music are just some of the treats in store for visitors to the show.

Karen Priest, New Caledonia Tourism New Zealand Manager, says it’s a great opportunity for French infused New Caledonia to have a presence.

“New Caledonia and its exotic “Frenchness” is right on New Zealand’s doorstep and a must for New Zealanders to visit – a Pacific holiday with a real difference and only a 2 ½ hour flight away.”

The French Event 2008 is organised by the French Trade Commission and takes place on November 1 and 2 at the Overseas Terminal Function Centre at Chaffers Marina, Wellington. Entry is free.

The show will be launched with a cocktail function on Saturday November 1 at 11am, guests include Wellington Mayor Kerry Prendergast and the Ambassador of France Michel Legras.
