A gentlemen, scholar and one of the finest DJ’s to ever play havoc with a pair of decks and some rugged fx, DJ Vadim is returning once again to bless us with his dope-on-a-rope, widescreen sound. With a back catalogue stretching back 13 years Vadim has released numerous albums for illustrious labels like his own Jazz Fudge, the untouchable Ninja Tune, and most recently BBE, who released his unfathomably deep and exceedingly expansive Soundcatcher album in 2007.

His insatiable appetite for rocking crowds has taken him to 56 countries and, as has been the case in NZ, he’s a man that’s invariably asked back. The last time he visited these shores it was as the architect of the mighty One Self supergroup, and we were deprived of one of his inimitable DJ sets. This time we get the best of both worlds with the trademark Vadim turntable heat on full burn, alongside mic manipulation and MC interjection from fellow One Selfer, and huge talent in a tiny package, Yarah Bravo.

How can you say nyet to the to this supreme Soviet spinner? This Dovtoesky of the decks and Tolstoy of the turnies is one not to be missed.
