THE DARK KNIGHT Returns To IMAX

FRIDAY, 23 JANUARY, 2009: After a sweep of nominations at the Golden Globes, BAFTA’s and Oscars, Warner Bros. Pictures has re-released THE DARK KNIGHT on the IMAX® mega screen. The action blockbuster will screen for a very limited season commencing January 22 2009.

Make sure you get in quick to witness the film sensation that immortalised actor Heath Ledger in this epic tale of good versus evil. Ledger was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and commentators are backing him to win the Best Supporting Actor award at this year’s 81st Academy Awards following his nomination today.

THE DARK KNIGHT is also nominated in seven other Oscar® categories:
• Art Direction
• Cinematography
• Film Editing
• Makeup
• Sound
• Sound Mixing
• Visual Effects
To date, THE DARK KNIGHT has grossed almost a billion dollars worldwide. On release, the film broke virtually every possible box office record in the US to become the top-grossing film of 2008. Critics and moviegoers alike applauded director Christopher Nolan’s revolutionary use of IMAX cameras to film some of the most challenging action sequences ever created – a first for a major feature film.
THE DARK KNIGHT is presented in unparalleled image and sound quality at The IMAX Experience®.
