SHOCKONE (AUS)
[VIPER / SHOGUN AUDIO / INCITE / FREQUENCY RECORDINGS]

EXCLUSIVE - ONE NEW ZEALAND SHOW /// THURSDAY 26TH FEBRUARY

ShockOne's classically trained musical background has without question formed the foundation for Karl Thomas' unique style of drum and bass and recent foray into dubstep. Based in Perth, Australia - he initially discovered drum and bass through artists such as Bad Company, Konflict and Ed Rush & Optical whilst playing in a band with members of Pendulum. Creatively inspired, he soon started experimenting with more electronic music and later found himself forming his own award winning style of drum & bass.

ShockOne's first 'mark' on the scene was made with his tune 'Silverscreen' when it was played at a Pendulum return show in 2005 It wasn't long before many in the DnB scene took notice, including DJ Friction who picked it up for his own imprint Shogun Audio based out of the UK. 'Silvescreen' and 'Dropping Science' was ShockOnes' debut 12" vinyl release, making the world take instant notice! Since, his tunes have gained support from the DnB Elite, including the World #1 Drum n Bass DJ and Global DnB Ambassador - Andy C, Friction and Hype to name a few. Followed by this release was 'It's On' which featured his musical side utilising live guitars resulting in an energetic party anthem that proved ShockOne were more than big synthesised basslines and amens break beats.

Some of ShockOne's latest and arguably most successful offerings are, ' Let Me Go ' out on New York based label Incite recordings, then the massive ' Riddler ' on World Number # 1 D'n'B DJ - Andy C's sister label to RAM Recording; Frequency Recordings. These were closely followed up by his debut release on UK's Viper Recording - ' Don't You Know ' and ' Way You Move ' on the ' Head Room ' EP, as well as the recent chart topping offering 'THE SUN' with Perth local, Phetsta on Technique Recordings.

ShockOne has proven to be a force to be reckoned with, not only in the studio, but also on stage, always retaining a strong musical element in sets while still keeping the energy at maximum level and the dance floor heaving at the seams.

2009 is set to be a colossal year for ShockOne with his forthcoming EP on Viper recordings in February as well as a full-length album in the works.
