We are pleased to announce the Danny McCrum Band have been confirmed as the support act for Eric Clapton, at Vector Arena on March 4th.
The band includes Danny McCrum on guitar and vocals, Ben Jurisich on guitar, Matt Harvey on bass and Glen Child on Drums. Matt Harvey is a founding member of the band and both Glen Child and Ben Jurisich joined in 2007.
Danny McCrum and Ben Jurisich who have both become recognized for their high standard of guitar playing, met when they were six and started playing guitar together when they were twelve. "We constantly played guitar, wrote songs and started performing together the same year" said Danny. "In Ben's rumpus room there was a raised carpeted area and we would stand up there playing guitar, imagining it was a big stage. The audience was the pool table (usually covered with washing) and Ben's dog. We always had great chemistry together and it's amazing to me, when I think of then versus now."
Now they don't have to imagine. In 2007 they performed support for Bryan Ferry & Joan Armatrading and two weeks ago on February 3rd, they played support for Jeff Beck. Both shows were extremely well received.
In November 2007, the band released their debut album Awake & Restless, which was produced by award winning producer Peter van Gent and the band are currently in the studio recording their second album, due for release this year.
