Acclaimed Producer Alex Coletti At The Helm Of This Years Awards Show
AUCKLAND, TUESDAY 17TH February, 2009 - The Vodafone MTV Australia Awards 2009 relocates to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on Friday March 27, bringing music, celebrity and glamour to the famous Darling Harbour. Championing this year’s show is the legendary US based Producer Alex Coletti who leads the MTV production team headed by Rebecca Batties, General, Manager, Music Brands MTV Networks Australia and New Zealand. The live broadcast of the Vodafone MTV Australia Awards 2009 will air exclusively on MTV New Zealand with the red carpet commencing at 9:30pm and the main show at 10:30pm.

Nominated for three Emmys and one Grammy, Alex Coletti has been responsible for some of the most memorable moments in television history, including the famous ‘Britney/Madonna kiss’. Joining MTV in 1989, Coletti developed and produced the legendary music series MTV Unplugged and can now name five MTV Awards shows, two Superbowl Half-Time shows and portions of Live Earth in his credentials.
The Awards show will bring the usual mix of celebrity, controversy and music, with the Red Carpet set to commence at 9:30pm (NZ Time), giving a twilight setting to the legion of artists and celebrities arriving onto the boardwalk. The fifth annual Vodafone MTV Australia Awards 2009 main show will then continue at 10.30pm (NZ Time).
Chupa Chups will be returning as supporting brands sponsor, while the Vodafone MTVAA’s 2009 welcome Jagermeister, Joop Thrill and Sharpie as first time supporting brands.
