The Westin Auckland Stages First Seafood Festival

27 February, 2009

The Westin Auckland Stages First Seafood Festival To Celebrate The Auckland Boat Show

Visitors to next weekend’s Auckland Boat Show can enjoy a stylish taste of the sea at The Westin Auckland’s first seafood festival.

The luxury hotel will open up its entire promenade on Viaduct Harbour to form arguably Auckland’s largest open-air dining room, right on the water, and certainly the most picturesque.

Just a short stroll around the Viaduct from the Boat Show hub, The Westin will provide some classy respite from the Boat Show bustle from 12 noon on both Saturday and Sunday, March 7 & 8.

Fabulous views, cool jazz from the Nairobi Trio and a special seafood menu teamed with stunning wines are on offer.

Foodies will love a special trio of the following tasting sensations for $38, which also includes a glass of specially matched wine, plus bread:

• Pan fried Giant King Prawns in Chili Ginger and Salsa

• Atlantic sea scallops, wrapped in pancetta with green tomato salsa and smoked potato aioli

• Ravioli of roast pumpkin, sage and pecorino

Seafood lovers will also be able to enjoy a cold seafood platter for two at $65, as well as fresh Bluff oysters.

Adding to the relaxed conviviality of the event, The Nairobi Trio will entertain guests between 1pm and 3pm both days.
