Aussie Millions Champ to take on New Zealand Poker Championships

2009 Aussie Millions champion, Stewart Scott, is confirmed to compete at Christchurch Casino’s New Zealand Poker Championships next week.

Scott, the hottest name in Australasian poker, is scheduled to begin his play on Thursday 2 April in the early phases of the tournament alongside fellow Australians Eric Assadourian and Tony Hachem in what will be a star-studded international line up.

Poker Manager at Christchurch Casino, Mick Ryan, says that the addition of Scott to the already high-class talent pool has just brought a new edge to the competition.

“The Aussie Millions is no doubt one of the most popular poker tournaments in the southern hemisphere and to have the 2009 champion amongst us will add a new dimension to the already stiff competition set to take place at the home of New Zealand Poker”, says Ryan.

“The trans-tasman rivalry is sure to get heated with the addition of Scott who has very interesting play-tactics during tournaments; he’s a great competitor to watch”, continues Ryan.

Queensland based 36 year old Scott is the third international poker star to be announced to compete at Christchurch Casino’s New Zealand Poker Championships which run 27 March to 5 April.
