A Food Lovers Paradise at Fieldays

Fieldays is delighted to announce the inclusion of the Cuisine Artisan Awards 2009 winners in the very popular Kiwi’s Best feature at New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays at Mystery Creek 10-13 June.

The Inaugural Cuisine Artisan Awards 2009 recognise New Zealand’s best artisan food and beverage products. An artisan producer is one who applies their skills to making individually crafted goods, generally on a small scale and often according to traditional practices. Cuisine received over 90 fantastic entries, a short list of 35 was then selected and a panel of judges chose the 10 winning products. These artisan producers combined top quality ingredients with kiwi ingenuity and created an exciting mix of outstanding artisan products.

Kiwi’s Best is proud to showcase the Cuisine Artisan Awards 2009 winners in a special dedicated area, the companies and their winning products include:
Supreme Winner: Salumeria Fontana – Sicilian Sweet Fennel Sausages
Uncle Joe’s - Walnut Spread
Ringawera Waiheke Island – Sesame seed lavash
Lubrook House – Dessert Figs
Provisions – Roasted cherry chutney
Aroha – Elderflower Rhubarb sparkle
Aromatics – Wine Barrel - Smoked mushrooms

In its second year at Fieldays, the very popular Kiwi’s Best marquee, proudly sponsored by L&P, is dedicated to showcasing the best primary produce and products New Zealand has to offer. Exhibitors include; Wild Country Fine Foods, Rush Munro’s, Paul Holmes Olive Oil, Shott Beverages, Bee’s r us, Masion Therese, Cathedral Cove Macadamia, St Andrew’s Lime, Perfect Produce, Fonterra Kapiti Cheese, Grove Avocado Oil, Aotearoa Seafoods, The Original Smoke and Spice Company, West Coast Breweries and many more.

At the heart of the Kiwi’s Best marquee is a display kitchen supplied by Kitchen Studio running a variety of events including cooking demonstrations from celebrity chef Al Brown of the popular television series ‘Hunger for the Wild’ and co-owner of Logan Brown Restaurant & Bar in Wellington. The kitchen will feature Al creating a myriad of dishes from produce available in Kiwi’s Best, as well as product information, tastings and a session with Paul Holmes.
