All Blacks Fans Play The Ultimate Home Game!

All Blacks Fans Play The Ultimate Home Game!

AUCKLAND, June 5 /Medianet International-AsiaNet/ --

The first Test match of the All Blacks season has got competition as the biggest and most highly anticipated game of the year, with the All Blacks hottest and newest licensed product, the All Blacks Charity Edition of Monopoly, officially launched and going on sale today...

The wait is over! In a first for the New Zealand Rugby Union, New Zealand's number one national rugby side has been immortalised on the world’s most famous board game Monopoly!

To celebrate the start of the 2009 season, the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) together with The KidsCan Stand Tall Charitable Trust, the Official Charity of the All Blacks and the NZRU, is launching the All Blacks Charity Edition of Monopoly.

The game is available nationally through 63 retail outlets including Supercheap Auto, Mitre 10 Mega and Champions of the World for $79.95.

With only 4000 units, the greatly anticipated release of the limited edition game will feature 22 All Blacks players. Rather than wheel and deal with Mayfair and Park Lane, players have the chance build a rugby-opoly empire through buying, renting and mortgaging their favourite All Blacks stars including Mils Muliaina, Ali Williams and Conrad Smith who all feature on this well- known Board Walk.

The big question is... where will the All Blacks squad be positioned on the board?

All Blacks player and KidsCan Ambassador, Ali Williams said: "The game celebrates the launch of the 2009 season and we are delighted to be supporting the All Blacks Official Charity, KidsCan Stand Tall Charitable Trust with proceeds from the sale of the games being given to this worthy cause. I'm sure our fans will enjoy playing the game – and the players will be keen as well!"

KidsCan Stand Tall Charitable Trust General Manager, Julie Helson said: "This is a fantastic game and as an official All Blacks product it will be hugely popular. We are expecting sales to be phenomenal. Funds raised from this campaign will benefit our popular Rain Coats For Kids, helping to ensure financially disadvantages children keep warm and dry during winter."

Ali Williams said: "Now die-hard supporters can take home their own piece of the legendary All Blacks squad with the world’s most popular board game, Monopoly."
