Smart Dogs off the leash on Raumati Beach

Media release, 02/7/09.

InterFunk Productions

Smart Dogs off the leash on Raumati Beach.

New Residency at The Waterfront Bar.

On Friday July the 17th, players from the Black Seeds will combine forces with members of Wellington super-group The Eggs (whose alumni include Fat Freddy’s Drop, Olmecha Supreme, Twinset and Rhombus) to bring the finest in afro-funk and soul to the brothers and sisters on the Kapiti Coast.

The Smart Dogs are booked to unleash rare new breeds of good-time grooves at the Waterfront Bar once a Month starting in July. With a pure dance-floor pedigree, the Smart Dogs own brand of heel snapping funk comes from the traditions of James Brown and Curtis Mayfield, with a little help from the wild-styles of Nigerian Afro-Beat.

Situated in one of the ultimate Sunset locations on the Kapiti Coast, The Waterfront Bar and Kitchen (in the Marine Gardens at Raumati beach) will be packed for a special night each month. Come on down Friday 17th of July and the Smart Dogs will show you how to get on the good foot.
