New Challenge for Team TransNet Extreme.

This weekend sees a few changes for Team TransNet Extreme as they make their first appearance on the Catlins Coast Rally.

Unlike the national championship events that the team has contested to date, there is no pace notes and no reconnaissance for the Balclutha based event. “I don’t know if I would want to run blind all the time but it will be nice to drive like they did in the good old days.” says Inkster

With no need for pace notes, Inkster is taking the chance to use principal sponsor Spencer Winn from TransNet along as co-driver. “I can only scream for ten minutes before I will go mute!” jokes Winn. “But seriously I am looking forward to it, it should be a lot of fun.”

The Catlins roads hold a reputation as some of the best in the country and the team are looking forward to the challenges the roads will offer. Such is the reputation that the event holds that drivers are coming from as far as Australia to contest it.

Of the 83 competitors, only Andrew Hawkeswood in his spectacular Audi Quattro is seeded ahead of Inkster and Winn, who will once again pilot the TransNet Evo 6.5.

The event will see the crews tackle eight special stages on Saturday August 1, covering 157 competitive kilometres before crossing the finish ramp in Balclutha at around 3.40 pm.
