MEDIA RELEASE
H O U S E O F E Z I S will showcase FW2010 – SYNTHESIS at New Zealand Fashion Week.
Australia’s new label E Z I S, labelled as the alter ego of SIZE, is a synthesis of explorations from the past 2 seasons created by Andrzej Pytel. It is a compilation of signature cuts and studies refined into a new collection that is now ready-to-wear and ready-to-expand.
The move followed a considerable contraction the label experienced after deciding to pull back from wholesale in 12 boutiques nationally, to focus all energies into a private store. The old saying ‘conquer your own backyard first’ was the motto for the last two years with a strong local following resulting in the store becoming a success.
Over time it became clear that Andrzej’s strength lay in applying his architectural background to fashion, with a shift in focus from textile printing to cutting and making. The 3-dimensional intuition that emerged from architectural training is the key to the design processes that informed the new direction. The label completely transformed what SIZE has been about since the launch 4 years ago, so a decision was made to create a new brand under the name E Z I S.
The collection breathes volume, exploring oversized geometries, draping and cutting to define the female body in alternate ways. Sharp masculine lines contrast soft feminine volumes creating flowing, comfortable pieces that elegantly portray the modern woman. Shears against opaques further emphasize the female body in a sensual yet hard-edged way.
Having researched international FASHION WEEKS, Andrzej feels that NZ is the place to launch the new brand alongside other amazing brands including NOM*D, TRELISE COOPER and ZAMBESI.
Air New Zealand Fashion Week runs from the 21st of September to the 25th of September at the Viaduct Harbour, Auckland New Zealand. The date and times of the show are yet to be confirmed.
