“PURE AMERICAN
METAL” RETURNS TO AUCKLAND IN DECEMBER
Back
by rabid popular demand, Lamb Of God are rounding off their
Wrath world tour with a return visit to New
Zealand, with a show at the Auckland Town Hall on December
9th.
Set to hit with the force of an invading apocalyptic army, Lamb Of God are back in New Zealand for the first time since their triumphant Powerstation performance in 2007, when their barrage of crushing riffs and pounding backbone of rhythm delivered a crippling dose of “pure American metal” to the local faithful.
The band’s sixth album Wrath has seen Lamb Of God elevated to the major leagues, and it’s clear contemporary metal doesn’t get more blistering and powerful than Lamb Of God. Since their last down-under visit, the band have been on the road relentlessly, touring with Metallica and Mastadon throughout Europe and the USA, and headlining their own world tour with As I Lay Dying and Children Of Bodom.
“It’s still a lot like getting hammered in the skull for an hour, but Wrath allows enough range between the power-chug and the forbidding rumblings to lift them a long way out of the pits of hell…” – NME
“Lamb of God is a punk band that plays heavy metal…” – John Campbell, Lamb Of God
“We've never stayed in one
place too long, and Lamb Of God’s evolution continues.
There is an aggressive shift in the material and our
approach. The bar has been raised." – Chris Adler,
Lamb Of God
