The newest game in the “Lips” singing franchise premieres November 26th

AUCKLAND, New Zealand – AUGUST 18, 2009 – Start warming up your vocal cords for the performance of your life, as “Lips: Number One Hits” is ready to hit the stage this spring with exciting new features sure to get any party jumping.

The newest game in the Xbox 360 exclusive franchise takes fun to a whole new level, letting players jump into the game with Avatar integration and unlockable Avatar Awards for you to show off to all your friends online.

With 40 songs on-disc from Coldplay, Lily Allen, Lady Gaga and more, plus an additional five song pack of your choice to download for free1 from Xbox LIVE, “Lips: Number One Hits” will let you find the perfect song to let loose to. Just in time for get-togethers this summer, the game will debut on November 26th.

At launch, “Lips: Number One Hits” will offer new and improved singing features to increase the fun, including:

New Gameplay Challenges
• Scoring: Be a superstar singer and build up your combo meter when you nail those notes. Consistency and accuracy will be essential to achieving top billing in score and rank. The longer you can sing perfectly for continued periods, the higher your score will be.

• Leaderboard Rankings: New in-game rankings mean you can literally see how much you’re rocking out during a song, with the active Leaderboard feature that ranks you as you sing. When you’re nailing your performance, you’ll see your ranking fly up and know when you need to push it over the edge to reach the top.

• Prize Cups: You and your friends can share in the glory by winning bronze, silver, gold and diamond prize cups.

Getting Into the Game

• Timed Play: Your Xbox LIVE Avatars will jump into the on-screen video when the time is right to show you how to use your Xbox 360 Wireless Microphone’s motion-sensing technology to perform a song-specific gesture, such as clapping your hands or strumming an air guitar. You also use the light-up mics to shake, clap and kick it up a notch for timed percussion segments while you sing.

Styling It Up with Your Avatar

• Unlockable Accessories: Deck out your Avatar with fun, new accessories through the Dashboard Avatar editor and show off those clothes in the game and to your friends on Xbox LIVE. Unlock “Lips” exclusive accessories by singing your way to them. Your Avatar will now also guide you through the “Lips” timed gestures in-game, so your virtual alter ego is sure to be the hit of the party!

To keep those singing sessions fresh, “Lips: Number One Hits” will soon let singers purchase Game Add-on songs releasing each week on Xbox LIVE via the Sing main menu, where you can see and sort your entire “Lips” music collection. The new Hot Tracks feature will also let you preview downloadable songs, along with their original music videos. “Lips: Number One Hits” makes it even easier to see and find your favourite music so you can jump immediately into your songs.

“Lips,” combined with the power of Xbox LIVE and the Xbox 360 Wireless Microphones, which are compatible with other hit music games, make Xbox 360 a premier destination for music game fans everywhere. More information on “Lips” is available at www.xbox.com/en-NZ/games/l/lipsnumber1hits/
