England 1190AD: While the crusades rage overseas, nobles struggle for power, with the peasants caught in between. Returning from war, a weary but idealistic Robin of Loxley feels compelled to action, despite the cautions of the pragmatic Lady Marion. Soon the two childhood friends find each other on opposing sides of an escalating conflict. As events spiral out of their control, they risk losing their friendship, their ideals and even their lives. This is the legend as youve never seen it before.
Robin and Marion features a cast drawn from across the Waikato and is written and directed by Hamilton playwright Ross MacLeod. MacLeods last play, Death, Lies and Fairytales, was a hit at Ignition Fringe festival and his next project will be directing the Summer Shakespeare at next years Gardens Festival.
Robin and Marion plays at the Te Awamutu Little Theatre September 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th at 8pm, with 2pm Matinees on the 19th, 20th and 26th.
Tickets $20 including refreshments. Book at i-Site 07 8713259.
