Festive Fable sought for Children’s Christmas Short Story

The producers of A Remarkable Christmas have launched their annual Creative Christmas Writing competition to find this year’s budding literary Short Story champion.

This year, the theme is “White Christmas”.  Children are being invited to use their imagination and incorporate distinctive characteristics that they perceive to fit the theme.

The winner receives a $50 book voucher, tickets for their family to the Shotover Jet Remarkable Christmas and their winning story announced live on radio with the More FM Kids Club.  It will also be published in book form for display in the Christmas Tree Grotto at the Queenstown Events Centre during December.

“The great thing about this competition is the talent and imagination that is exhibited by the children” says Remarkable Christmas producer Jan Maxwell.

“The story written by last year’s winner Kirsty McCorkindale, was a fantastic tale about a Christmas Chicken and brought delight to hundreds of children who visited the Grotto”.

To take part, entrants will need to write a short story up to a maximum of 500 words.  Guest judges will be judged by Jo Blick, Margo Berryman and Emma Lange from the Q92 More FM.  The winner will be announced on the More FM Kids Club on the 20 November.

Full information on how to enter can be found at www.lakesleisure.co.nz and will also be distributed through local schools  Competition entry closes on the 18 November.
