Every Child Counts Award
Minister to present Every Child Counts Award at Parliament
The annual presentation of Every Child Counts* awards will take place at Parliament this Thursday 29 October, at 11.30am. Minister for Social Development, Hon Paula Bennett will make the presentation.
The awards acknowledge the work of organisations and individuals working to improve the status and well-being of New Zealand children. Past recipients have included:
2007 –Parliament (for the passage of the child discipline law)
Beth Wood QSM, tireless child advocate
2008- The Censorship Compliance Unit of the Department of Internal Affairs
Trish Hunt, West Coast parenting educator
In 2009, Every Child Counts will present just one award to an individual.
The award recipient will be announced by the Minister for Social Development at the award ceremony as follows:
