The Benka Boradovsky Bordello Band - Polkapocalyptic. New Music Video
We are Dylan Bakker and Nathan Taare, Wellingtonians based in Berlin. We run a production company called Sumone Productions (brief bio below).
Today we have released a new music video for the song Polkapocalyptic by The Benka Boradovsky Bordello Band (Auckland).
Sumone Productions Brief Bio
Sumone Productions started making films in 2004.
Their first film featured Cory Grinder, a cold blooded killer from the Hutt Valley who stalked the windy streets of Wellington. Working in the DIY kiwi tradition of no budgets, big hangovers and bloodshot eyes they worked their way through several more short films and music videos.
They relocated to Berlin from London in 2009 and this is the third video they have released from Berlin this year.
The video for The Benkas was filmed over 5 days but the unfunded production ran to 4 months due to all sorts of unforeseen and unfortunate mishaps including spontaneous pneumo-thorax's (collapsed lungs) and exploding cameras.
Edited from a hospital bed in East Berlin and funded by weekly busking sessions terrorised by Neo-Nazis, the music video continues a long tradition of kiwi ingenuity and tomfoolery.
