News From Sandwiches

Kia Ora,

Twas the last weekend before Christmas and all through the club all the people were raving to house, techno, and dub.... (and drum and bass, and dubstep, and every other genre under the sun)

Ok, enough trying to be clever - you get the picture.

Here's what you should be getting your teeth into this weekend:

Friday:

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - Lockdown 2 Xmas Special!
After a sold out session back in October, Lockdown is back for a MASSIVE Christmas blowout! 30 DJs, 1 Santa, 2 zones, all genres!

Again featuring a full local line-up of Wellingtons most upfront DJ’s both up n coming and established, across all genres. Xmas at Sandwiches is set to explode again so lets get merry on it! Who are you gonna Kiss and Bang under the Mistletoe?

Just $10 on the door.

Saturday:

Pitch Black & International Observer
Two amazing acts come together for one very special show! Dub, electronica, and dance as it's meant to be played and heard!

Pitch Black need little introduction. Having pumped their way through New Zealand’s electronic music scene since their inaugural performance at the annual Gathering New Year's eve festival in 1997, they have spent the last twelve years rousing dance floor punters, generating rave reviews, winning awards and gaining thousands of fans across the world.

International Observer is the creative outlet for musician, producer, film-maker and artist Tom Bailey, which has allowed him to step outside the 80’s synth-pop paradigm inhabited by his former group, The Thompson Twins. Drawing on his exposure to dancehall culture in South London in the late 70’s, along with later stints working with reggae legends Sly & Robbie and Lee Perry, as International Observer, Tom crafts luscious soundscapes that loop through time and space to etch their own groove on the vast global disc that dub has become in 2009.
