The Start for Aly Cook's year begins with plans to record a debut album with Auckland producer Alan Jansson at the helm. After raising an album budget using The Netherlands based Sellaband platform http://www.sellaband.com . 4 months and 6 days after signing up on the website some 225 believers in Aly's music from around the world invested US$20,000 between them in her album project.

Alan Jansson produced Aly's first single I Wonder nominated for APRA Country Song of the Year 2005 and mastered the Nashville recorded 2nd single Country Storm. Alan is one of NZ's most successful producers and in fact is the only producer in NZ to have produced an album in NZ with platinum sales status in the USA.

Aly has involvement as part of a voluntary committee running the 3rd Taste Tasman. http://www.tastetasman.co.nz Taste Tasman is a day celebrating the Nelson Tasman Regions Art, Wine, Food, Fashion Music. On March 7th 2010 as a fundraiser for Tasman School & community. During the day's line up, Taste Tasman will feature iconic ex Nelsonian and New Zealand and Australian music icon Sharon O'Neill. Aly is not only on the organising committee but will take to the stage as part of the backing band as a backing vocalist for Sharon O'Neill. Taste Tasman is also running a songwriting seminar at the Nelson School of Music with APRA, NZMIC & Creative NZ staff present on Wednesday 10th of March, 2010. One of Aly's new ventures is a weekly LIVE webcast and chat called THE KIWI SOFA ..which has viewer number growing. The live streamed show is embedded in her newly built website, built and managed by PHMC GPE a communication and IT Development Company based in France, which is assisting Aly with communication in Europe & UK where she has performed and hopes to return on a short tour to promote the album.

THE KIWI SOFA is an interactive show beamed out to the world LIVE from Aly's music room in Tasman, Rural NZ and various locations every Sunday morning 10am NZ Time (Timed specifically for Sat night in Europe and UK and Sat Afternoon in the US.. ) LIVE viewers chat in the chat room asking her and her guests questions and Aly and guests can chat back to Internet users from around the globe. Perform live and speaking on a variety subjects and exposing viewers outside of NZ to kiwiana, euphemisms and lots of interesting chat.
