UK food advocate to tour NZ
UK food advocate to tour NZ February/March 2010
Wendy Cook, catapulted as a young woman into a celebrity lifestyle as first wife of Peter Cook (of "Peter Cook and Dudley Moore" fame) and now well-known as a speaker, writer, teacher and cook in her own right, is visiting NZ to give lectures and present workshops on the theme of understanding what we eat and how it affects us.
Wendy Cook is the author of "Foodwise" and "Biodynamic Food and Cookbook". She is interested in the energetic component of food and is a passionate advocate for biodynamic agriculture say tour organisers Debbie ter Borg and Fiona Walker. Wendy’s lecture "The Evolution of Food and Human Consciousness" will be offered in seven centres around the country.
Wendy's experience of having a daughter with severe asthma prompted her to study macrobiotics and subsequently Rudolf Steiner's approach to nutrition and agriculture.
Wendy's NZ tour begins in the Wellington region on Friday 19th February, with the lecture “The Evolution of Food and Human Consciousness” to be presented at 7.30pm at Te Ra School in Raumati South.
