Media Release: Friday 5th February 2010
The National Youth
Brass Band of New Zealand commences their 2010 Summer Course
in Dunedin 12th Feb followed by a concert tour of Otago and

Following on from rave reviews at the 2009 International Youth Musicale in Japan the band will perform a wide range of entertainment including works by Stravinsky and Shostakovich, celebrated New Zealand composers Gareth Farr and Ken Young, well known jazz standards and even a vocal tribute to Elvis Presley.
The Musical Director Graham Hickman (previous conductor of the NZ Army Band and current New Zealand Champion Conductor) said “The level of musical excellence this group of young enthusiastic musicians attain is astounding. This is without doubt the highest quality brass and percussion youth ensemble New Zealand has seen for some time”
