Bring it on Bay of Plenty and Waikato
Press Release – for immediate release April 14, 2010
How much? Too Much! Bring it on Bay of Plenty and Waikato…what a start in the Nota (North)!!!!!
Pio Terei, Stacey Morrison and a 30 strong crew are about to blaze through Bay of Plenty to film It’s in the Bag.
“What a great start from Northland – characters – start to finish! Great energy, great people, heaps of aroha, eh! And for our next shows in Bay or Plenty and Waikato I can confidently guarantee a great night out!” says Pio Terei.
“From Reremoana the wanna-be-Maori All Black in Dargaville to Mummy’s boy Te Pou Mitchell our Kawakawa winner we have met some real talent” said Stacey Morrison.
“It’s a real whanau affair and the true celebrities are the locals joining us on stage! Pio and I are having an awesome time and looking forward to meeting some Bay of Plenty and Waikato characters!” Says Stacey Morrison.
Some Great Prizes have been won, some good booby prizes have been avoided but one lucky lady, Huatahi Maunsell from Kawakawa will look at her limited edition Pio & Stacey calendar all year and think of the hundreds of dollars she gave up for it!
Our first four audiences have raised over $2,000 for local charities – Lions and Rotary in Dragaville, Food bank in Kawakawa. Kaeoannes in Kaeo and the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Kaikohe. 18 contestants have played Money or the Bag for close to $20,000 worth of prizes and cash – taking home Shoes & Sunglasses from Tu Ake, Black & Decker Garden Tools, Hairy Mussels Sea Food Packs, Resene Environmental Paint package, a Brother Sewing Machine, Bradley Smoker, Penguin Books, a mousetrap and a very stylish Pio & Stacey calendar!
The biggest money winner so far has been Alfred Blundell from Kaikohe who donated his whopping $450 to the Kaikohe RSA Support Services.
Last Saturday night (10th April) we wrapped up the Northland block of filming in Kaikhoe and this Friday the entire production heads to the Bay of Plenty to open in Opotiki on Saturday 17th. We film four shows in the Bay of Plenty and then on to the Waikato. Halls are packing out so be sure to book your seats by registering online at www.itsinthebag.co.nz or call/txt 021 036 8725. You can also join us on Facebook for regular updates.
“There are still heaps of great prizes in those kete – helicopter flights, power tools, TV’s, overseas holidays, BBQ’s, home decorating packages, whiteware, furniture, outdoor clothing, homeware, seafood, games and travel prizes up for grabs! And maybe the odd framed shot of me a Stacey!” Say’s Pio.
“And if you can’t make the show for the chance to compete on stage you can enter our online Web Bag comp and Stacey and I will play for you!” he adds.
Web Bag is open to anyone in New Zealand – simply visit the website www.itsinthebag.co.nz and enter how much cash you would be prepared to take over the bag. Each show an entrant is drawn at random and Pio and Stacey play against each other on your behalf. Kia tupato! - If you get the bag you could walk away with a Holiday or a scrubbing brush! Our two Web Bag winners so far have come from Otaki and Waipapa and both have won more cash than they bid for!
Each show contestants are chosen from the audience in a warm up game before shooting starts. Shows are pre-recorded live in front of local audiences and are attracting sell out crowds! Because we’re shooting live I’m afraid we have to ask you to leave the little ones at home – so no tamariki under eight please.
