New Zealand’s two month tour of the giant Hyundai Goodwill Balls concludes in the capital this Saturday afternoon. The balls are heading to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where they will feature on the field before the All White’s matches.

Fans, families and friends are invited by Hyundai to celebrate the world’s biggest sporting event at Frank Kitts Park, on Wellington City’s waterfront. The pair of giant Goodwill Balls, measuring 4 meters in diametre, will be joined by the Wellington Phoenix in an extravaganza of entertainment and prizes, with more than $125,000 up for grabs.

Thousands of New Zealand Fans have already scribed their own message to the All Whites on the Hyundai Goodwill Balls at Hyundai dealership events up and down the country, from Whangarei to Invercargill.

Hyundai, a core sponsor of the FIFA World Cup, has arranged non-stop entertainment and action from midday to 4pm for New Zealand fans, families, and football clubs.

Graeson Cooper, Australasia’s top freestyle footballer, is running a talent search with $500 cash for the winner.

The Hyundai Golden Boot Challenge will be running hot, with a grand prize pool of $125,000 on offer. Five dead-eye kickers will be drawn to shoot for $25,000, by aiming a football through the golden hole in the boot of New Zealand’s family wagon, the Hyundai Santa Fe. Phoenix fans will also have the opportunity to meet their favourite players, with eight of the team attending, including Manny Muscat, Troy Hearfield and Vinnie Lia, to mingle with the fans.

“Being 100% locally owned Hyundai New Zealand saw the importance of providing a way for local fans to show their support for our All Whites team as they head off to make history in South Africa, the Goodwill Balls have been a perfect way to do this,” said Hyundai New Zealand Chief Operations Officer, Tom Ruddenklau.

“Hyundai is one of the strongest supporters of football worldwide and we know what it means for New Zealand to stand on that big stage at the Cup. As proud Kiwis we send the All Whites our proud support and messages of goodwill, that’s what these giant footballs are all about,” said Mr Ruddenklau.
