BEATS PEOPLE MOVEMENT* emerged as a blog style website in June 2007. In October 2007 BPM* launched the Dubstep Alliance clubnight with UK guest DJ PINCH and went on to promote COTTI, HEADHUNTER, STARKEY & HALFCAST, RSD, TRUTH, ZED BIAS, AQUATIC LAB, SPHERIX, and MUNK under the DUBSTEP ALLIANCE brand with resident DJs OOGUN, SEEKA, SCOTT DETAIL, OLLIE SHUTTA and resident host/MC DAPHT ONE making a night that is now an integral part of Aotearoa Dubstep's history.

BEATS PEOPLE MOVEMENT* also promoted the Auckland shows for FLYING LOTUS, THE GASLAMP KILLER and THE BUG & WARRIOR QUEEN continuing a booking policy that encompases a wide range of Bass Music styles.

Not one's to stay still for long current BPM* clubnights include the STEPPAS UNITE! Dubstep weekly at Juice Bar and the DUBSTYLE SESSIONS monthly at CASSETTE NUMBER NINE specializing in upfront Dubstep as well as the emerging sounds UK Funky / 130 bpm with resident DJs AMIGA5HNDRD, SAM NOON & DJ/MC DAPHT ONE.

In June 2009 the BEATS PEOPLE MOVEMENT* store opened its doors in La Gonda Arcade, 203 K'Rd specializing in Dubstep, Dub and D&B Vinyl and CDs as well as DJ and audio gear sales focussed through the Trade Me store. After one year trading the BPM* store will be closing its doors this SATURDAY THE 5TH OF JUNE, 2010!
