The Ad Show gets extended season
Advertising is proving a hit on TVNZ’s non-commercial digital channel TVNZ 7.
Its home grown production The AD Show, dedicated to advertising, marketing and PR has become the channel’s most downloaded show and is gaining audience week on week.
The AD Show produced by Top Shelf Productions for TVNZ 7 was originally scheduled for 15 episodes but has had its first season extended by a further five shows.
Hosted by NBR columnist Hazel Phillips, The AD Show is a weekly chat show style format filmed before a studio audience. It covers a wide variety of topics and issues around the advertising industry and its mix of discussion and entertainment is proving a winner.
Producer Raewyn Rasch says not only have online audiences soared, but the studio audience is now so large extra seating has been brought in and even then, audiences regularly spill over into the control room. “It can be a bit crazy some nights but the audience really add energy to the show and we try each week to incorporate them into programme.”
This week The AD Show is on a break to make way for a Media7 one hour special celebrating 50 years of television but will return for its remaining five episodes starting Thursday June 10th.
The AD Show is broadcast at 9.35pm on Thursday on TVNZ 7 and is replayed several times during the week. The Ad Show is broadcast both on FreeView and on Sky Channel 97. It is also available on demand from TVNZ’s website, can be downloaded as a podcast,
