First-Ever Stand-Up Comedy Tour Of New Zealand

This November, award-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams will bring his critically acclaimed new stand-up comedy tour, entitled “Weapons of Self Destruction,” to New Zealand. The high-energy show will highlight Williams’ trademark free associations and riffs on social and political absurdities. The show, which toured the US in 2008 and 2009, sold out venues across the country as well as in the UK and Canada and earned the comedian spectacular reviews.

The New Zealand tour commences on Friday 19 November in Christchurch before moving to Auckland for one show on Saturday 20 November.

William’s last American comedy tour was in 2002 when he returned to the stand-up scene after a sixteen year hiatus. The sold-out tour earned the distinction of being one of the highest-grossing comedy tours in history and culminated in a final performance filmed by HBO and broadcast live from New York City. The resulting HBO broadcast, Robin Williams: Live on Broadway, was nominated for five Emmy® awards.

Williams has more than 40 industry honors to his credit including four Oscar® nominations and one win, two Emmy® awards, four Grammys® and six Golden Globes® including the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award.
